About Us
A specialized investment platform
serving institutional investors
Our Firm
Institutional Life offers advisory services to leading global asset managers and insurance companies with a primary emphasis on life settlements. Our approach is designed to deliver results and provide investors with enhanced insight and control over traditionally complex assets. Our engagements are flexible and run the gamut from traditional sub-advisor to more narrow third-party administrative roles such as portfolio servicing and valuation agent. We also work with partners on special servicing or similar operations intensive projects.
Our Focus
We concentrate on longevity risk and adjacent themes where we might have a differentiated view either based on underwriting conviction, active management or operational efficiency. Areas of activity include:
- Life settlements
- Structured settlements
- Life contingent annuities
- Synthetic longevity-mortality swaps
- Esoteric investment grade private credit
- In-force carrier liability management trades
Our History
Institutional Life was originally founded in 2007 by Goldman Sachs, Genworth Financial and National Financial Partners. Today, the firm is independent, and management owned. This unique history gives our partners the responsiveness and professional accountability of a small firm with the corporate best practices of a larger institution.
Our Values
We are driven by a strong desire to find the bottom line and get things right. We place a high value on long-standing relationships based on performance and reliability. We believe in alignment through a flexible and collaborative approach toward investing that highlights our expertise.
