Marshall serves as the managing member of Institutional Life and is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm. He has been in a leadership role at Institutional Life since 2009 when he joined the firm. During his tenure, the firm has been engaged on the acquisition, advisory or management of more than $6bn FV across 10 distinct client portfolios with nearly $2bn of equity realized. In 2016 Marshall successfully negotiated a management buyout of Institutional Life from National Financial Partners. In 2018 Marshall moved the company’s headquarters from New York to Nashville and now makes his home in Tennessee.
Prior to Institutional Life, he was co-founder and CEO of the leading US based educational and municipal outreach communications platform acquired by Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB). He also identified and structured among the first large-scale global investment bank FDI’s in India in 2007. Marshall holds a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD/MBA from Columbia University.
